Our application process is designed to help us get to know you better—not to judge your writing skills. The process includes two phases:
- Written application and budget
- Virtual interview (for selected applicants) with members of the Breakthrough team

To apply, your team will:
- Submit a written application
- Submit a preliminary budget

Your written application will:
- Introduce your team, including roles, time commitment, and contact information
- Provide details about your innovation, including how it works, who it serves, and what makes it unique
- Explain how you’re measuring the impact of your innovation
- Share key challenges you’re facing and the types of support you hope to receive from Breakthrough
- Submit supporting materials demonstrating your innovation

Your budget will:
- Show how you will use the $125K award during the 10-month Breakthrough Accelerator

Please note: All application responses must be submitted through the online application form. The completed budget template and narrative must be uploaded to the Fiscal Information section of the application.

Interviews
We know the value of conversations and connections. In the second phase of our application process, we will conduct virtual interviews with selected teams to learn more about your team and innovation. Applicants will be notified if they have been selected to participate in an interview with the Breakthrough team and will be given clear instructions on what to expect.
Awards are contingent upon the availability of funds.
