Quiana serves as a coach for Breakthrough teams, drawing on her belief that all young people deserve a fair chance to live their healthiest lives. She is driven by the belief that all young people deserve a fair chance to live their healthiest lives. Her work spans three areas: elevating youth agency through Youth Participatory Action Research; exploring the factors that shape youth mental health outcomes; and strengthening families by advancing economic supports for nontraditional households, particularly grandparents raising grandchildren. As a mixed-methods scholar and emerging thought leader, Quiana brings over a decade of experience in community-based research and grant-making, including roles at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Quiana has a PhD in Population, Family, and Reproductive Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and MPH from Yale University. In her free time, she loves going to Broadway shows and visiting children’s museums with her 1-year-old.
