  • A person who introduces new methods, ideas, or products or makes changes to something already established
  • A person who is willing to pivot and think inside and outside of the box
  • A person who is comfortable with uncertainty and risk-taking
  • A person who is a doer, thinker, and visionary
  • Teams should consist of three (3) people.

  • Team members do not have to be from the same organization. 

  • Teams should include individuals with diverse expertise and experience who: 

    • Have a passion for advancing equity in adolescent sexual and reproductive health through a lens that considers the root causes of sexual health.
    • Have a program, product, or idea (big or small) related to adolescent sexual and reproductive health that has been designed or tested with youth or intended audience.
    • Have a commitment to and are serving youth from marginalized communities including BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, expectant and parenting youth, etc.
    • Are willing to share and learn from other innovators working on similar/related areas.
    • Have evidence or data (big or small) that the innovation works.
    • Are looking to move their innovation to the next level.
    • Are comfortable with an iterative process of constantly designing, testing, and refining.

If you don’t meet all these criteria, we still encourage you to apply! Research shows that people with marginalized identities—including women, people of color, or LGBTQ+ individuals—are less likely to apply unless they meet every qualification.
